Description

With some brief correspondence relating to the departure of scientific researcher W H Hook, papers concerning collaboration and patent matters, including:

report of a conference at the offices of the Medical Research Council, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, 12 March, 1943, "to consider the possibilities of fuller collaboration between industrial organizations ... and government-financed and academic institutions ... in the field of chemotherapy, with special reference to antimalarial research" (Chair, Sir Henry Dale) - with draft statement of MRC policy on the operation of patents in the medical field;

draft Agreement between May & Baker Ltd and the Council of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (February, 1943);

letter (11 January, 1943) from Dr A J Ewins, May & Baker Ltd, to Dr Pyman, recommending that the TRC Board that adopts an "arrangement" with the Imperial Cancer Research Fund "providing for collaboration in the restricted field of synthetic products allied to mould metabolism products" along the lines of May & Baker's agreement (see above).
