Photograph of a monument to Anthonie Van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) Dutch scientist. The photograph was acquired by Captain Johnson Saint from E. Geevers, the verger of the Old Church, Delft in September 1927. Captain Johnston-Saint was a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum employee who travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and India purchasing items for the museum.
