Notes

This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A photographic postcard by Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931). Von Gloeden became celebrated, indeed infamous, for his homoerotic photographs of the young men of Taormina, who posed in 'classical' settings such as this example. His imitators included Guglielmo Pluschow (1852-1930) and Vincenzo Galdi (1871-1961)."
