Clean typescript of "Yemma: a Story of ‘The White Man’s Grave’ in ’98" by the late Colonel Frederick Smith, CB, CMG, DSO, Royal Army Medical Corps, edited by his grand-daughter Jean Overton Fuller with a foreword and short biography."
Her foreword is an "apologia" for Smith's depiction of Africa and Africans, and an explanation of the principles upon which she had edited the text ("Successful in his books on medical research, he had not the technique of writing fiction.... I have tried to give his story some shape.")
Her memoir is at the end of the typescript, pp 146-194.
