McKusick wrote in his contribution to the Festschrift (reproduced on the cover), 'In 1963 [Fraser] provided me with a valuable critique of a preliminary catalogue of autosomal recessive phenotypes that was under preparation for Mendelian Inheritance in Man. His friendship and professional advice have meant much to me for over 40 years'.
