About this work

Description

The main body of the manuscript is in the same handwriting throughout but there are additions by later hands. The manuscript was written in the second half of the seventeenth century, by a writer to whose identity there is no clue. The main body of the manuscript is occupied by epitomes of the works of Daniel Sennert (1572-1637), i.e. Institutiones Medicinae and Practica Medicinae, published at Wittenberg in 1632. Sennert's complete works were published in 3 volumes, folio, in Venice in 1651.

Ownership note

It passed into the possession of one Jacques Latané, who wrote his name, and the date 1700, on the inner margin of folio 1. The book seems to have been used by his youthful son James Latané who has filled the few blank pages with writing in a very childish hand.
