General Correspondence Files

These files cover both professional and personal activities. Indexes found in the files are noted, but they are not comprehensive. Papers removed from these files by Professor Lovell in the course of writing his biography [now in section L] should also be consulted for correspondence over this period. Two chronological files have been made up by the archivist for stray letters found in the collection to cover gaps, and some items have been added to existing files.
