Papers relating to Heatley's talk "Penicillin and Luck" presented at the Rockefeller symposium 'Launching the Antibiotic Era', held 23 Oct 1989, and included in the Rockefeller University Press publication of the same name in 1990. The symposium was held at the Rockefeller University, New York, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of Gramicidin by Rene Dubos. It was organised by colleagues and friends of Dubos.

Includes correspondence with Dr Zanvil A Cohn, Dr Rollin D Hotchkiss and Dr Carol Moberg, regarding arrangements for Heatley's presentation and travel to the USA, the content of his talk and some historical points, the writing up of the paper for publication by The Rockefeller University Press in 1990; various drafts and versions of the article; some newspaper articles.
