Description

Two major groupings of professional bodies for hypnotherapy existed; the Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation and UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisation (UKCHO). UKCHO and the Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation applied independently to join the regulation programme, 2008-2009.

UKCHO was an umbrella organisation of nine member organisations and nineteen associate member organisations. Member organisations included the Association for Professional Hypnosis & Psychotherapy; British Association of Therapeutical Hypnotherapists; British institute of Hypnotherapy; Hypnotherapy Association; National Association of Counsellors; Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists; National Council for Hypnotherapy; National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists; Society of Stress Managers, UK Guild of Hypnotherapy Examiners.

The Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation had 156 member organisations, including 25 professional associations/registering bodies and 131 training organisations.

Papers include correspondence with Jean Nestor, FIH Project Manager; GHR bulletin; UKCHO newsletters.
