Biographical note
The majority of the FPA clinics were passed over to the NHS in 1974, however a few were retained.
A decision was taken by the NEC for the FPA to withdraw its clinic services and concentrate entirely on the promotion of family planning; this meant that the remaining FPA clinics were to be transferred to other authorities or closed.
