The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A printed postcard; plain backed, so not intended for postal use. A crude monochrome rendition, this is typical of the 'dirty postcards' frequently brought back to the UK by British servicemen in Italy and North Africa during World War II. The very poor quality of printing and card used would suggest that they were printed in large numbers."
