Project description:
Leonardo's Monsters engages with contemporary debates around the ethical, social and economic implications of transgenic experiments between humans and animals by taking as inspiration Leonardo da Vinci's concept of 'monster making". It offers young adults a fresh approach for the exploration of these topical and controversial issues. The project will be carried out as an artist and scientist residency within South Camden Community School. The main outcome will be the collaborative creation of an interactive digital artwork that will be hosted on the Universal Leonardo web site; a series of masterclasses for students and an adult lecture.
