Description

Minutes, papers, articles, correspondence and background material relating to the Quality of Working Life (QWL) programme of employee participation at the pharmaceuticals firm May & Baker Ltd. (head office at Dagenham, Essex) in the early 1980s.

The programme's central documentation is held in PSY/CHE/1-3 & 12. Various task forces were set up to address different sections of the company; these task forces are documented in PSY/CHE/11/4-11.

Arrangement

In its original form this material comprised two large lever-arch files plus a small box of steering committee papers: files PSY/CHE/11/1-11, accordingly, were originally divisions within those lever-arch files, whilst PSY/CHE/11/12 was material boxed separately.

Acquisition note

Deposited in the library at Wellcome Collection by the British Psychological Society in September 2008.
