Biographical note

An international congress was organised by the Liverpool Queen Victoria Nursing Association to mark the fiftieth year since William Rathbone's initial district nursing experiment in 1859. Papers were given by delegates from Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the USA as well as analyses of district nursing in Great Britain.
