Biographical note

Project description:Technology is becoming available to extend our lives, raise our intellect and even let us go without  sleep. Yet what do we mean by human enhancement? How far has the science of ‘human  improvement’ developed and what are the different technologies that make it possible? In the future,  how might enhancement technology affect us all? In fact, how will it affect our perception of what it  means to be human? Cheltenham Science Festival created a high-profile series of debates around  the issues of human enhancement and radical life extension, during a week of science-related fun  from 6 to 10 June 2007.
