This image shows a bovine pulmonary artery cell. The pulmonary artery is the large vessel that takes deoxygenated blood cells from the heart to the lungs. These cells have been visualised using fluorescent labelling. DAPI staining highlights the nucleus (blue). MitoTracker Red CMXRos is a red-fluorescent dye that has been used to stain mitochondria (red dots) and Alexafluor 488 phalloidin is a green fluorescent dye has been used to label F-actin filaments in the cell that make up the cytoskeleton.
