    N° 16,825 A.D. 1902 Date of Application, 29th July, 1902-Accepted, 18th Sept,, 7902 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION. “Improvements in Moulds for Artificial Teeth. I, Thomas Steele, of Bed Bank, in tlie County of Monmouth and State of jNew Jersey, United States of America, Tooth Crown Maker; do hereby declare the nature of this invention and in what manner the same is to be performed to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following statement. 5 This invention relates to moulds for forming sets of artificial teeth of porcelain or other material and each having a central cored recess for an attaching device. The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved mould for form¬ ing artificial teeth, arranged to permit individual adjustment of the core pins 10 to permit of accurately setting the core pins relative to the tooth forms, to insure proper formation of the teeth. The invention consists of novel features and parts and combinations of tlie same, as will be fully described hereinafter and then pointed out in the claims. A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying 15 drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views. Figure 1 is a plan view of the improvement, die upper mould section being removed. Figure 2 is a transverse section of the improvement on the line 2—2 of Figure 1, and showing the upper mould section in position. Figure 3 is a 20 side elevation of the core bar carrying the adjustable core pins, and Figure 4 is an enlarged perspective view of the adjustable head and core pin. The mould sections A and A1 are of the usual construction, and held one on the other by guide pins B, and in the opposite faces of the said mould sections are arranged registering mould forms C for forming sets of teeth in the usual 25 manner. Into each pair of registering mould forms extends a core pin I) rigidly held on and projecting from a head E having a shank E1 extending into a recess F1 formed on the inside of a core bar F, the said shank E1 having an elongated slot E2 for the passage of a screw G screwing into the core bar F, to secure the shank, the head and the pin I) in position on the core bar. The head 3b of the screw Gr extends in an elongated countersink E3 formed in the shank E1 as plainly indicated in Figure 3, so that when the screw is loosened the shank El and with it the head E and pin D can be adjusted so as to bring the pin 1) in proper position in the corresponding mould form C, and when the desired position has been reached the screw is screwed up so as to securely hold the shank, 35 the head and the pin in a proper position. As illustrated in Figure 2, two core bars F extend in a recess A2 in the mould section A, and the said core bars are secured in position by a suitable wedge H, the same as heretofore practiced in the ordinary moulds for forming artificial teeth. Bv the position described the head E of each core pin extends on the top of 40 the corresponding core bar F, and is shaped to close the end of the corresponding mould form, but the said head and its pin are adjustable on the core bar so as to bring the core pin and head at all times in proper position relative to the mould forms. It is understood that in the moulds as heretofore constructed, and having the core pins rigidly secured on the core bars, it frequently happens that the pins 45 are bent out of proper shape through handling, and consequently extend inac¬ curately in the mould forms, so that badly formed teeth are the final result.
