Kept in Wellcome's Medical Diary and Visiting List War Emergency Edition (Indian Service) for 1917 - 1917-1919 on military service in Italy, France and Belgium; voyage via Gibraltar and Aden, Hong Kong and Nagasaki to Kamchatka; then to Vancouver and Seattle, back to Japan, China, and Singapore; return to UK and then travel to the Baltic. On return to UK spent some months in Scotland and Derbyshire, followed by a trip to Fontainbleu, Jun 1921. In 1922 he went to Australia, returning to Scotland
