Description

Minutes and papers of the (second) Working Party for the History of Medicine. The History of Medicine Working Party (1986) was constituted in accordance with the Trustees' Minute 279:6:86. Its members, besides Paton (Chair) and the Director of the Wellcome Trust, were Robert Fox (University of Lancaster), Dr Stephen Lock (BMJ), David Vaisey (Librarian, Bodley), Professor E A Wrigley (History Panel), with Professor A R Hall and Dr M B Hall as Joint Secretaries. Broadly, the terms of reference were "to consider and report on arrangements for future support for the History of Medicine" and "to make recommendations about the post of Director of the Institute and suggest names." The Working Party first met on 16 October, 1986.
