About this work

Description

A painting by Geriatric/Physical illness patient 13 "Bridie" depicting "One of the first works she did when she was given paint. The joy she got out of it! Note that here the classification breaks down: the stroke patient paints diagonals only because she can't paint up and down" (RMS).

The title has been taken from notes made during conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.

The date is taken from other dated artworks by this patient.

Rita Simon's style classification: Archaic Transition.
