About this work

Description

Instruccion para oponerse en lo posible a la Introducion del contagio de la Epidemia del Obispado de Puebla, en esta Capital, procurandose establecerla con la mayor economia. Undated copy of 10 measures (perhaps incomplete) proposed by the impoverished City to maintain quarantine against the spread of infection from Puebla. The principal epidemic of this year of fevers, from which more than 20,000 died in the City alone, was probably typhus. The Junta was composed of 5 members of the Ayuntamiento. [See Cooper (1965), pp. 157-182; and Diario de Mexico, 1813, 2 ser., passim (from 28 January, p. 157)].
