About this work

Description

Fragments of a late Ramesside letter

Publication/Creation

Egypt, Thebes, ca. 12th-11th century BC

Physical description

The fragments are a light colour, with grey smears as if palimpsest. They are mounted in one frame, in an order that appears largely accurate but may be a little too closely fitted at the recto bottom right. The rather coarse texture of the papyrus makes it difficult to determine the precise arrangement from the fibres.; Material: papyrus; Fragments mounted in one frame.; dimensions: diameter 84 mm, length 233 mm

Hand note

Written in similar hand to the letters edited by Jac Janssen.
