The funding of the seven year ICM/USAID Project was terminated in January 1980, with no survival of project organisation. It was felt that this valuable and successful project should be continued; that the expertise built up in LDCs should not be lost; that the project programme had a significant impact in improving traditional (non-professional) practices and midwife/TBA activities. This document, written by Peter Gray-Lucas, outlines various policy options for continuing the Project, including financial support and funding.
