Original mottled calf binding, lettered 'Morbi Mullier & Vene' on spine. The words 'Morbi mulierum & veneris' can be discerned through the front paste-down'.

Biographical note

A fair copy of Astruc's lectures at the university of Montpellier, where he occupied one of the chairs of Medicine from 1722 to 1728. The identity of Jean Marchon has not been established. He records the dates of completion of his two transcripts at ff. 92r. and 142r. respectively.
