About this work

Description

Thirty case files relating to the 'Thirty Year Follow Up Study of the Clinical Significanceof Obsessions in Schizophrenia'.

Each file contains correspondence with doctors to trace the patients and to try and obtain information on their subsequent treatment and well-being, etc., as well as copies of their patient records whilst at the Bethlem Royal Hospital and the Maudsley Hospital and sometimes other hospitals at which they may have been treated. Letters on some files indicate also if the patient was or was not traceable, if they wanted to co-operate with the study and to be interviewed again, also some of the out-letter copies are annotated with patient's case history afterwards (brief notes only). For many of the files there is no indication if the patient was traced nor the 'follow-up' information on them. This seems to be mainly the 'tracing' files series, not the actual follow up.

The files are all assigned a number. The catalogue records the person's initials only.
