Artist identified as Herbert Seemann: see Oesterreich. Biogr. Lexikon 1815-1950, T. 12, p. 55. He studied probably at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Dresden. Together with another artist called Gassler, he made another, presumably later, poster for Karlsbad, in the style of a glamour still from a 1930s film: an impression of the latter work is in the Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Vienna (information from Petr Štembera, Museum of Decorative Arts, Prague, 2006)
