About this work

Description

Plans comprise the following: 1. Plan, 25 September 1883 2. Plan, 7 July 1884 3. Plan, July 1884 These plans are slightly different from each other. 1. has more detail on the surrounding area, and names streets; it colours in the Convent's land and the land proposed to be sold to the Convent by the Retreat, as well as the land lately purchased by the Retreat. 2. is identical but without the coloured annotations referring to the Convent's land; it does have some different, faint pencil annotations marking eg line of a new street. 3. covers a smaller area, larger scale, and marks out house plots. The latter plan was probably used for the selling of the land for building in 1894.
