Only Smarties Have the Answer: Live DVD

A live DVD recording of the play "Only Smarties have the Answer" written by Aidan Shingler based around his experiences of being sectioned in England under the mental health act. It was recorded athe the Buxton Fringe Festival. The play was produced by the Bridgehead Arts company and the puppets were opperated by Langley Brown and Christina Agnew.

The production is split into nine sections, each one is introduced by a monologue performed by Aidan and then leads into a puppet scene dramatising a scene from his life. The live version has a more extended introduction of Aidan himself and is in front of a live audience. The audio is good but sometimes Aidan's narration is muffled. The puppet characters are: Aidan (puppet), Judy, Professor Oedipus Punch, Nurse, Policeman.

The play deals with the treatment of the mentally ill by science and psychiatry, active misunderstanding and confirmation bias in medicine, sectioning, human rights and mental health on a whole.
