Introduction (p. 1): "It had been my intention that this report should cover my comments and detailed criticisms on the combined business of the Amalgamated Companies, but in view of the necessity of completing the Accounts by a specified date, and the fact that certain information required to complete the Manchester Accounts is not yet available, I decided, in order to expediate matters and avoid a last day rush, to deal with the old "Cooper" business separately, and to furnish, if possible, by the 18th instant, the amalgamated Accounts and my comments thereon."
