About this work

Description

During the 1980s Durbin worked at the Medical Research Council's Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) researching the development and organisation of the C. elegans nervous system. This work formed the basis of his PhD thesis. He then worked with John Sulston and Alan Coulson on sequencing the C. elegans genome, developing the genome database ACeDB in collaboration with Jean Thierry-Mieg and going on to lead the informatics side of the project when it moved from the LMB to the Sanger Centre. The files concern Durbin's PhD research, the development of ACeDB and his involvement in the C. elegans genome sequencing project.
