"Collaboration with other companies"

The file comprises several brief items, as follows, relating to the formation of a "joint company":

"Possible Names for Joint Company (ICI and WFL)" - small sheet listing several possible names (e.g. "WellChemicals Ltd"). MWS, 17 June, 1940.

"Memorandum on Financial Aspects of New Company" and "Further Notes on Financial Aspects of New Company" - both GF, 16 July, 1941.

31 July, 1941. Memorandum [1 sheet] from MWS to Mr Bennett headed "Pharmaceutical Research Corporation Ltd". Refers to "Mr Warden's report on the existence of Companies with similar names". The note concludes: "Is the proposed name PRCL sufficiently settled to make formal application, to know if the name could be accepted? Some details of the proposed company (backing, and so on) would be necessary to insure [sic.] the enquiry receiving proper consideration."

9 October, 1941. Typed extract from The Lancet (27 September, 1941, pp. 380-1) on the subject of university and industry co-operation, with attached note stating the extract "relates to a matter discussed at the last meeting of Management - the possible setting up of a Consultative Research Panel to supplement the proposed Research Panel of the TRC".

Typed notes on the "basic qualification for inclusion as a full-scale shareholder in the projected Company", and two small manuscript sheets noting Miles Laboratories Inc, New York.
