Biographical note
Project Summary:Crossing Over: Art, Science and Biotechnologies' is an exhibition of contemporary art that engages with issues of advanced biotechnologies, stem cell and genetic research. Seven artists and artists’ collectives working across art, design and science will develop new works especially for the exhibition that explore topics including cloning, gene transplant, and life extension. The artworks consider the metaphors, potential, anxieties, and social and ethical implications surrounding these topical areas of research. Held at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, the artworks will be exhibited throughout the building, punctuating its libraries, stairwells and corridors. The exhibition is complemented by a series of talks and debates by the artists and invited scientists.
