Description
Records of the Chicago-based US subsidiary of Coopers. Most of the records document official meetings of the company's shareholders or directors.
Some minutes in this set of records have been stamped to indicate that they were copies received by the UK Coopers company, whether by a named individual (eg. A D Robertson), or in an office (eg. 'Managing Director's Office')
The company had, under US Laws, to register as a foreign corporation in American states other than Illinois, its home state, for operational and legal reasons. A good number of the resolutions carried by the board were to allow this to take place.
Meetings of the board and AGMs often took place in the offices of the company secretary.
