About this work

Description

Communication for the month of May, 1901, including daily "sheets re diagnoses" listing individual doctors and their remittances.

In a letter of 24 May, Dowson suggests that Burroughs Wellcome & Co replies to a complainant regarding the possible contamination of "diphtheria antitoxic serum" that "it preserves its strength practically unimpaired for a year at least; and that any deposit which may have formed in the serum is, so far as experience goes at present, not due to contamination if on standing it settles to the bottom of the phial leaving the upper layers of the serum comparatively clear."
