Description

The edge of a dragonfly wing. Dragonflies (order Odonata) are divided into two distinct sub-orders, damselflies (Zygoptera meaning "paired-wings") and dragonflies (Anisoptera meaning "unequal-winged"). The main difference between the two can, therefore, be observed in the wing structure. In damselflies all four wings are near enough equal in size and shape, however, the hind wings of dragonflies are usually shorter and broader than the forewings.
