Description

In December 1988, the Head of the Radiation Protection Programme (Commission of the European Communities) established an International Panel of Independent Experts to draft recommendations on the feasibility of carrying out studies of the health effects from environmental exposure to ionizing radiation as a consequence of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident (April, 1986). Doll acted as Chair to the Panel.
