Notebook kept by Andrew Melville, a student at Glasgow University under James Woodrow (d. 1707), Professor of Divinity. Largely extracts from printed works of history, chronology and theology: including Walter Raleigh's History of the World [ff. 29r.-40v.], Thomas Hearne's Ductor Historicus, or a short system of universal history [ff. 43r.-64v.] and others.

Biographical note
