Letters of recommendation, some accompanied by letters of congratulation on exam success and wishing him success in his future career, from various churches, the London County Council Commercial Evening Institutes, Deptford Town Hall, and the Baptist Missionary Society. Many of these letters seem to be in connection with Browne's intention to apply for a scholarship offered by Manchester Baptist College for Medical Missionary candidates tenable at Manchester University and Manchester Royal Infirmary, and includes postcards from the College acknowledging his application
