Description

Inter-leaved copy with copious additions in pen and pencil of English cookery books to the year 1850 by A.W. Oxford. Oxford Univ. Press, 1913. Compiler's holograph MS. Hodgkin's signature and date 'Sept. 23. 1913' inscribed in pencil inside the upper cover. On the last fly-leaf 'Bound and interleaved specially for me by the Oxford University Press. Sept. 23, 1913....' There are numerous loosely inserted cuttings from booksellers' catalogues, photographs of title-pages, etc. Also an A.l.s. from A. W. Oxford to Hodgkin (with original envelope), dated 13/11/1925 containing an invitation.
