International Physiological Congresses 1889-1939

The material consists of notes and drafts by Franklin and other miscellaneous correspondence, reminiscences by colleagues; extracts and reprints of papers given at the Congresses (some published in 'Archives Internationales de Physiologie') and meeting and other papers. There is also empheral material such as postcards and guide books.

These papers were acquired and produced by Kenneth J. Franklin FRS whilst working on "A short history of the International Congresses of Physiologists" for Annals of Science, in 1938 (3), pp.242-335. They were given to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in January 1985.
