Description

Black and white reproduction of the second page of an invoice in José Antonio Pavón Jiménez (1754-1840)'s handwriting to Aylmer Bourke Lambert (1761-1842), signed by Pavón. The exhibition catalogue describes the invoice "for part of the Collection of Cinchona Specimens sold by Pavon to Alymer Bourke Lambert". The invoice was reproduced as part of the material lent by The Linnean Society of London and exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The invoice is listed as exhibit no. 982 in the souvenir catalogue (possible Linnean reference: Pavon catalogues 26.E.14), and is not held by Wellcome Collection. Related image: M0001396
