Biographical note
Proceeds from IPPNW benefit concerts went towards charitable organisations working on behalf of atomic bomb victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The first IPPNW Concert for Peace was held in 1984, after Dr Peter Hauber, paediatrician and violinist, contacted 250 musicians to take part in anti-nuclear peace concerts. The IPPNW Concerts for Peace were a collaboration between IPPNW, MAPW, MCANW and MANA.
