Description
Contains medical data and illustrative material relating to patients with a variety of congenital disorders, who were referred to Penrose and his colleagues at the Galton Laboratory for dermatoglyphic analysis and chromosome analysis on cell cultures. The material in this file comprises reports and dermatoglyphs created by Penrose and his colleagues for the information of the responsible clinicians. The type of material in this file comprises:
- Diagrams of main lines on the dermal ridges on patients' palms and soles (dermatoglyphs)
- Dermatoglyphic reports on ridge counts
- Finger, palm and foot prints from patients (some photographs, some originals)
- Photographs and x-rays of patients, particularly the hands and feet
- Photographs of chromosomes, comprising karyograms and karyotypes
