Description

A painting in Rita Simon's Archaic Massive style, depicting a boat on water with the sun and some flowers, produced by a patient given the pseudonym "Sally". She is discussed in Rita Simon's book Symbolic Images in Art As Therapy pp142-144. This was her first painting, produced while her mother was dying. She participated in an adult group of people in Community Art (kitchen art), then afterwards she had private sessions with Simon. This information is taken from conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.
