Description

Four images on one negative: photographs showing a Kwanyama woman in Angola performing an enema on a boy. According to the accession register, the photographs are part of a set taken at the homestead of the District Chief of Owangwe district, near Namakunde, Lower Cunene, South Angola. The negatives were loaned to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum by Miss A. Powell-Cotton and the museum made copy negatives and prints which were accessioned in 1939 (accession number for these photographs are PHO 11222, PHO 11223, PHO 11225, PHO 11226).
