About this work

Description

Information contained includes patient name and number, name and address of Obligant, rate of board, date of admission and date of discharge or death. Dates of discharge and death are not always recorded. This volume mostly relates to private patients paying the lower rates of board, however there are some pauper patients recorded with the Inspector of the Poor listed as their Obligant. The earliest patient admission date in this volume is 1852 and the latest is 1888. Attached to the inside cover is a printed note showing rates of board for persons belonging to Dumfries and Galloway and rules and regulations regarding rates of board dated 1 November 1884.
