    Tc the hew Hills Urban District Council, Gentlemen, In presenting you with my Annual Report for the year 1305, I have nothing of importance to lay before you, as most of the important works that for some tine you have had under considers tion, are now in actual progress* During the year 103 deaths have occurred in your district giving a death rate cf 1 .10 per thousand, the previous year 148 deaths were registered with a death rate of 21*2 per thousand* The deaths recorded are s from Whooping Cough, 2 from Diphtheria, 2 Membranous croup, 8 Diarrhaea, 8 Heart Disease, 18 - Phthisis, 52 Bronchitis and Pneumonia, 1 Puerperal fever, 2 from Accident, 1 from Suicide. So you will sou that deaths from Zymotic diseases are very light. The following cases of Infectious sickness have been reported, Erysipelas 3, Puerperal fever 1* Scarlet fever 16, diphtheria 11* Membranous Croup 2. Typhoid f-ver X. During the same period 195 births (107 males, 88 tom lee' were registered giving a birth rate of 20. per thousand. The Scarlet fever cases 16 in all were of a mild type and we have no deaths recorded from it. 5 cases cf Diphtheria occurred on the Buxton Hoad and in this case the drainage was at faiO.t, but it was at once attended to and all cases did sell in one or two other cases no sanitary defects could be found. Iothing definite has yet been done about the Isolation Hospital, a suitable site not having yet been found.
