About this work

Description

Medicinae eclecticae secundum mechanicae leges elaborate partes duo (Pathologia, Anatomia): together with 'Therapeutica'. This MS. contains 'Pathologia' and 'Anatomia', and is a student's notes of lectures at Naples University. At the end of the text is a statement that the work 'Ecclectica est a sedulissimis Rhuischio (Friedrich Ruysch [1638-1731]), Verehyen (Philip Verheyen [1648-1710]), Duvenei (Joseph Guichard Duverney [1648-1730]), Bellino (Lorenzo Bellini [1643-1704]). It has been identified by comparison with MS. 3744. There are marginal notes and additions by another hand, one at the end of the 'Pathologia' is dated 1775. The name of this writer may be 'Matteo', as on the title-page is a note in Italian and Latin, apparently by the same scribe, of the birth on March 18, 1763 of Stanislao Giuseppe Matteo. Produced in Naples.
