Description

Dame Juliet Rhys-Williams (1898-1964) was one of the founders of the NBTF, and Chairman from 1957 until her death in 1964, and as her entry in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography comments, was extensively involved in actively involved in other aspects of social and medical work, particularly relating to maternity services and child welfare, from the late 1920s for the rest of her life. Some files found among her papers were incorporated into the main series of records (mainly Joint Council of Midwifery material).
