O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself, but in me is thine help.’? “ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground; lor it is time to seek the Lord till he come and rain righteousness upon you:” Fr ^ Oct. 17, 180$. ROM the title of this book, and from the Scriptures of Truth, we may discern who is the ME, and the I, that is spoken of by the pro- phets ; as 1 have observed from the prophet Hosea ; so we may observe from the prophet Isaiah, chap, xlii. “ 1 a n die Lord : that is my name : and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praises to graven images. Behold, the former things are •come 10 pass, and new things do I declare : before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praises from the ends- of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is thereih ; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
